Art, Architecture, or Bad Design – Soul Studio

This is a very special place called Soul Studio. Not only is the space beautiful, but they also do beautiful work here. This building is owned by Friendship Circle, which is a non-profit that helps children and adults with disabilities. This building houses a café, a beautiful banquet hall, and an art studio for adults with disabilities. Honestly, the entire place brought me to tears. The beauty and the joy it gives to adults with disabilities is off the charts. Put together by Rabbi Levi Shemtov, the Friendship Circle space will inspire even the most curmudgeonly among us. This is the view when you walk in. Notice the beautiful check-out desk made out of wood. They sell the arts and crafts made in the studio. One picture created by a paraplegic just sold for $14,000. I had the opportunity to see the picture first hand, and it is amazing. Stop by for lunch and browse the gallery. You will be very impressed with the design, the mission, and the art.
